Qualcomm Strengthens Silicon Valley Presence with Appointment of Laurie Yoler, Senior Vice President of Business Development

SAN DIEGO, March 6, 2013 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., has appointed industry veteran Laurie Yoler as senior vice president of business development. In this role, Yoler will be responsible for augmenting existing business relationships in Silicon Valley, as well as developing new strategic business opportunities for Qualcomm in the region. Yoler will report to Peggy Johnson, executive vice president and president of global market development, Qualcomm Technologies.

Yoler joins Qualcomm with more than 20 years of experience spearheading the funding, development and market expansion of innovative technologies worldwide in both corporate and start-up environments. For the past seven years, she was a partner and managing director at GrowthPoint Technology Partners, a Silicon Valley-based investment bank. Yoler has been an integral part of the development and launch of many new innovations and products, including within large companies like Visa, Sun Microsystems, and Accenture, as well as with a small group of founders, investors and advisors of a new entrepreneurial venture with a radical idea such as Tesla Motors, DNA Direct, and Packet Design.
