QUALCOMM and EoNex Technologies Announce Licensing Agreement to Port BREW Client Software to EoNex CDMA2000 Chipsets

SAN DIEGO, June 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies and mobile data solutions, and EoNex Technologies (http://www.eonex.com), a baseband solution provider, today announced a licensing agreement to integrate QUALCOMM's BREW(R) Client software onto EoNex's line of CDMA2000(R) application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs). Under the terms of the worldwide agreement, QUALCOMM has granted EoNex rights to incorporate the BREW software layer into the CDMA2000 chipsets that it sells to its device manufacturer customers.

EoNex selected BREW for its CDMA chipsets as a way to provide a superior level of integration in their chipset software stack by providing a pre- integrated BREW layer for their device manufacturer partners. EoNex's CDMA chipsets will initially be available in the North American market.

"The agreement with EoNex further increases the reach of BREW, as it will be available on additional handsets through EoNex," said Mitch Oliver, vice president of solutions and marketing for QUALCOMM Internet Services. "As the availability and uptake of wireless data services continue to grow, it is important for QUALCOMM to ensure that the availability of BREW software on all tiers of handsets grows along with it. Our agreement with EoNex reinforces this goal."

"The architectural and technological capabilities of BREW allow it to be easily ported onto our chipset solutions, and we are very excited about the new opportunities that this agreement with QUALCOMM brings to EoNex," said Sung H. Chun, president and CEO of EoNex Technologies. "We believe that the advantages BREW brings to the table in delivering, supporting and operating advanced mobile applications will give us an edge in entering the North American market and the BREW-enabled market throughout the rest of the world."

BREW solutions change the way people relate to wireless data services. By enabling the discovery and delivery of high-value content, BREW creates opportunities for the wireless industry to enhance consumers' mobile data experience. QUALCOMM's comprehensive and targeted BREW Signature Solutions offer reduced time to market and lower capital investment for companies providing mobile products and services. Customers also can benefit from several modular BREW offerings, including uiOne, deliveryOne(TM) and QPoint(TM), which provide the foundation for customer-differentiated wireless data capabilities.
